Catalina Reyes-Vargas
BiologistA microbiologist with extensive experience collaborating with initiatives that seek to raise awareness about animal care. She has worked as a scientific coordinator, a teacher, a disseminator, and a researcher in the area of biology, ecology, sustainable agriculture, and climate action.
About the author
Graduated in Biology and Microbiology from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia (2019). She is currently studying to access the specialization in State, Public Policies and Development at the Interdisciplinary Center for Development Studies-CIDER of the same University.
Catalina has a general experience of more than 5 years in research of various groups of organisms and ecosystems, as well as advocacy in public policies focused on the conservation of biodiversity. She currently works as a Biology teacher in the International Baccalaureate program. He directs an audiovisual project for scientific dissemination called El Estuario. She was selected as a delegate for Colombia at the Youth Ag Summit 2019 and is an ambassador for Thought for Food.
She participates in different international initiatives related to climate action, sustainable agriculture, democratization of science, and conservation. She was president for 5 years of Uniandina Animal Conscience, an initiative to promote reflection on the preservation and care of animals.
