Five adopted homeless dogs at a gas station

Dogs living on the streets often suffer a lot, and they struggle to get food and shelter. They have to deal with weather changes, and endure rain, heat waves, and people’s indifference.

Few manage to get out of this situation unscathed, but today we’re going to tell you the story of five dogs that did. This was all thanks to the sense of solidarity, empathy and gratitude of the workers of a gas station, located in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, Brazil.

According to what was reported, these canines were always together and accompanied each other in good times and bad, which caught the attention of gas station workers. They quickly moved from interest to action and took a closer look at the group, noticing that they were malnourished and dehydrated, clear signs of abandonment.

So, after a little bit of thought, they decided to adopt them as part of their work team.

For the gas station employees, the dogs are members of their family, they care for them and love them very much.

The employees even built houses for the dogs

After formalizing the adoption, the gas station employees built little houses for the furry ones. In total, they built five shelters, all next to each other and next to the service door. They’re sheltered from the rain, sun, and wind.

“They arrived little by little and today they live with us and receive the necessary care. I send them to the vet often, they have a bath every week and never lack food“, said Antonio Aldo Monteiro.

He added a phrase that has touched many hearts: “First I take care of them, then they take care of me. Animals only give us love.” And the whole team agrees that since the dogs arrived, the working environment has improved for everyone.

In fact, they’re a great example of healthy coexistence. The dogs seem to consider themselves as brothers and sisters and never fight, although sometimes they make it clear that they disagree with each other. We hope you’ve enjoyed this touching story!
